POMPEY SUPPORTERS TRUST HIRE BEGBIES TRAYNOR TO FINALISE BID FOR PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB
The Pompey Supporters Trust today announces that Antony Fanshawe, of Begbies Traynor, has been instructed to work on finalising the PST bid for Portsmouth Football Club
As has been outlined previously, the PST bid plans are based on a number funding streams and these continue to be explored. They include:
- Share pledges from Pompey Fans worldwide continue to arrive on a daily basis, it is not too late to pledge £100 towards buying a £1000 share.
- Associate Director numbers also are increasing and more potentials are being contacted, again it is not too late for local business to get involved in the PST bid.
- High Net Worth Individuals are also involved. We continue to speak to 5, all of whom are lifelong Pompey Fans. 4 were present at a meeting on Monday night with Penny Mordaunt MP and also representatives from Portsmouth City Council.
Mr Fanshawes role will be to pull together these various strands into a bid and will utilise the considerable experience he and Begbies Traynor have in these matters.
The Pompey Supporters Trust believes it must continue to work towards being an alternative to Portpin in the race to save PFC. However supporters and others view Portpins bid, we must stress it is yet to be accepted and has a number of hurdles still to overcome. The more money raised by the various initiatives the more chance we have to succeed in creating that alternative.
