I am Managing Director of Snows Motor Group Limited and based at our BMW dealership along Eastern Road, Portsmouth. I have been the MD of Snows for the past 30 years. I live in Southsea.
I am not from the area and moved from London to Portsmouth when a business opportunity in Portsmouth came my way in 1980.
Being a believer that you should always support your local team, I first ventured to Fratton Park in August 1980 and was introduced to Peter Mellor who quickly became a friend and associate. I attended every home game that season and became smitten by the passion of the fans and the importance of the cub to our great cty. I have been following Pompey ever since.
That passion allowed our company to form extremely close ties with Pompey and during the Championship winning season and all the Premiership years, we were a partner of PFC and travelled to Wembley 5 times and enjoyed following the team in Europe.
I joined Pompey Supporters Trust when it formed and became an active member! I have a clear understanding of what makes a business succeed in today’s extremely challenging business environment. I was co-opted onto the Board in September 2011 as I believed that the Trust needed to forge links with the local Pompey loving business community. My first task was to organise the production of a new Trust Leaflet and to consider making amendments to the identity.
On 26th March 2012, I presented to the Board the idea of a Community Share Issue and proposed that the share offer would be £1000 a share with an initial show of commitment of £100. The motion was passed 8:1.
I became one of the Bid Team in February 2012 and have been one of the three driving forces behind the bid to buy the club out of Administration, a task I intend to continue.
