PST ballots members on Community Pitch Project

I’m very pleased to announce the details of our exciting project to make a huge difference to 3 Portsmouth based community groups.

As members may be aware, we have been working with Pompey in the Community, Portsmouth FC Women and Moneyfields FC on a vital project that will help to underpin the future of each of these organisations.

In short, this ambitious scheme will see Moneyfields Park completely redeveloped with a brand-new Community Hub and 2 3G pitches with associated changing rooms and gym facilities. In addition, there will be classrooms, a function room and meeting space for PITC’s vital work that benefits the people of Portsmouth so much.

Members can find more information via the following link: Moneyfields Proposals

At our recent AGM we presented this to the attendees and we were blown away by the level of interest and overwhelming support from the room.

In order to get this project going the PST Board would like to pledge up to £250,000 in funding that will match, on a £1-for-£1 basis, donations from our members and the wider community of Portsmouth. In order to be able to do that, the PST Board has decided that it would be right to ask our members to confirm their agreement to this funding commitment being made.

In our most recent Audited Accounts, it was confirmed that at 30 June 2019 the PST held some £311k of funds, an amount that increases by approximately £5k every year. Therefore, the amount proposed is well within our capacity and presents no danger of leaving the PST short of funds.

PST members are being asked to approve in principle the PST’s contribution to the project, and that the Board be empowered to put in place the necessary safeguards and complete the transfer of funds when it is satisfied this has been done.

If the resolution is approved, then the PST Board will enter into an agreement with Pompey in the Community to safeguard the money contributed and will adopt appropriate controls. Prior to the transfer of any monies, The PST Board will carry out a Board vote to ensure that the Board is satisfied that appropriate due diligence has been conducted.

Ballot instructions have been sent to all members. The quickest and easiest way to provide your vote on whether to approve or not approve the project is to reply to the email.

However, if you'd rather write in with a paper ballot then you can obtain that via the this link: Ballot Details
