PST thanks Mark Catlin
by the PST Board

Pompey Supporters’ Trust would like to thank Mark Catlin for his passionate work as CEO of Portsmouth FC over the last 8 years.

As many people do, it is clear that Mark caught the Pompey bug, and we are sure he will remain a Pompey fan for years to come. Having suffered from years of distant owners, under fan ownership Mark helped to bring the club back closer to its supporters and community. His approach to fan engagement has been first class, always taking time out to speak to fans up and down the country.

Mark and his family embedded themselves in the City, learning the culture of our community. As a Director of the club, he will be an important link back to the days when the fans and City rescued the club and turned its fortunes around.

Mark has long been a supporter of the PST and recognised the important role we can play in the direction of the club through consultation on the Heritage and Advisory Board and his candid discussions with board members. We can only hope that his replacement has an equal understanding of the way in which our club works, taking every opportunity to engage and listen to the views of supporters.

Ashley Brown said, “Prior to the sale of the club to Tornante I had worked closely with Mark from the point he first appeared on the scene. Over time I got know his family, all of whom grew to love Pompey.

"We travelled up and down the country together, witnessing the highs and lows of Pompey in League two. Early on we had many dark days on the pitch, and the support of Mark and a handful of others at the core of Pompey’s recovery helped us through.

"Regardless of how the team performed, Mark and his team of the staff remained focussed on the huge restoration required. In 2013 the club was in a dire state, brick by brick it was rebuilt, eventually rewarding us with promotion and the foundations of a professional and sustainable club.

"Mark’s passion and determination should be appreciated by fans, his part in Pompey’s revival remembered. I wish Mark the best of luck in his new role”.

The PST Board would like to wish Mark all the very best in his new role, and look forward to continuing to work with him as a Director of PFC.
