PST August Update
by the PST Board

Added on 07 August 2025

PST Away Ticket Scheme

The Pompey Supporters’ Trust will continue to receive an exclusive allocation of away tickets for the 2025/26 season, which will be made available for PST members to purchase.

PST members who have signed up to our Away Ticket Scheme will be able to apply for these tickets in a ballot, making a small number of tickets for each fixture available to supporters who may not otherwise have been able to access them.

We have already helped 31 PST members secure tickets for this weekend's season opener at Oxford, while a further 54 PST members have been allocated tickets for the forthcoming West Brom fixture through the Trust.

We'll be closing membership of the Away Ticket Scheme once the season begins. If you wish to apply for tickets through the PST, please ensure that you've joined by the end of Sunday 10th August.

Further information, including details on how to sign up, can be found here.

Wins on ticketing secured for fans

The Pompey Supporters’ Trust met with the club’s ticketing staff in July to help secure changes to the club’s ticketing policy.

The changes include a significant uplift for supporters who list their season ticket seats on the club’s ticket exchange - adult season ticket holders who do so will now receive at least £15, rather than the previous £5.

There are also tweaks to the club’s loyalty point system, which we believe will help ensure the system remains fair and balanced for supporters for years to come.

These two changes were the most requested suggestions put forward by respondents to the PST’s 2025 supporter survey on the topic of ticketing.

South Coast Derby Policing

The Pompey Supporters’ Trust met twice with the club and Hampshire Police last month to discuss policing arrangements for the forthcoming South Coast derby fixtures.

Following the decision made jointly by both clubs to require away supporters to travel on club coaches and to collect their tickets onboard, we raised concerns about how this would impact match-going fans, particularly those who live near to St. Mary’s Stadium who would be forced to make unnecessarily long journeys to a fixture close to their homes.

Whilst not necessarily agreeing with all aspects of the final outcome, we’re pleased that the clubs will mitigate the impact on fans by giving supporters a choice of pick-up locations following feedback given in these meetings. This represents an improvement for supporters on the arrangements used in previous ‘bubble’ fixtures, where just one pick-up location was used.

We’ve also been reassured that appropriate arrangements will be made for disabled supporters who may have difficulty boarding coaches, and that pick-up locations used will have adequate parking and toilet facilities.

PST welcomes the Football Governance Bill

The PST was first established when the future of Portsmouth Football Club looked very much in doubt. Sixteen years later, we're delighted that the Football Governance Bill has achieved Royal Assent, paving the way for an Independent Football Regulator.

We continue to stand in solidarity with clubs like Morecambe who continue to be badly let down by the football authorities, and believe the Independent Football Regulator will become a meaningful safeguard for supporters and communities against the financial mismanagement of reckless owners.

The PST has played a hand in the creation of the bill, having given an evidence session to the Fan Led Review Into Football Governance in 2021. PST Board Member Ashley Brown has also been closely involved with the Bill through his work at the Football Supporters' Association, while fellow PST board member Amanda Martin MP served on the Bill Committee, helping to secure its safe passage through Parliament.

Next week, members of the PST will meet with the Shadow Football Regulator and staff from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to discuss best practice in fan engagement.

Thank you for your continued support of the PST. Here’s to a successful 2025/26 season, on and off the pitch.
